Formerly
the site of the town’s old silent movie
theatre, bank, and post office, these retail
businesses have revitalized a 1900’s
downtown area.
A
costumed
step-on guide will welcome your group and add
a bit of Southern Hospitality for your
group’s pleasure, and your group can choose
to from a barbecue lunch, an afternoon tea, an
evening desert night, or a picnic at the
Springs.

was the word used during the Victorian era,
meant taking a trip, “off the beaten path”
to a beautiful spot and having a picnic)
(FORMAL definition of Shunpike is: a side road
used to avoid the toll on or the speed and
traffic of a superhighway in 1862!)

Battle Tour – optional or addition
Visit
the historic town of Elm Springs where over
10,000 Confederate Soldiers camped before the
Battle of Pea Ridge in 1862.
Costumed
step-on guide will share
the history of the campsite area; take you
on a tour
of the local cemetery where 1860’s
tombstones remain.
While
in Elm Springs your group can shop
for bargains on Water Street, former site
of the town’s silent movie theatre, old bank
& post office and mercantile store, eat
barbecue or have light desert and lemonade
in the courtyard.

approx. 1 hr. for tour, 1-2 hrs for shopping,
1 hr. for eating)

able to arrange for other re-enactors to be on
the site).

an Outdoor Marketplace Experience
Add
a trip to our Elm Springs
OUTDOOR
MARKETPLACE to your group’s itineraries if
it is the 2nd Saturday of any month
June-October. Marketplace
opens at 7 AM – 2:00 PM and features Artists
painting by the springs, fresh produce and
shopping in the quaint downtown shops on Water
St. CASH
